Laboratory IRCCyN

The conference will be hosted by the laboratory IRCCyN (Institut de Recherche en Communications et Cybernétique de Nantes).
IRCCyN is a Joint Research Unit which has been recognized and granted by the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) for more than 40 years.

The institute gathers more than 265 members from the University of Nantes, the Ecole des Mines de Nantes and the Ecole Centrale de Nantes:

  • 103 permanent researchers,
  • 20 permanent administrative and technical staff,
  • 111 PhD students,
  • 3 Post-Docs,
  • about 28 researchers or engineers with temporary contracts.
Thanks to various supports, several positions are also regularly opened for welcoming visiting professors, researchers, and students.

The scientific domains which are tackled within our 12 research teams cover a rather wide thematic spectrum, including:

  • control of complex systems
  • signal and image processing
  • video communications and handwriting recognition
  • robotics and mechanical systems with joints
  • computer aided mechanical design
  • customer driven design
  • modelling and optimisation of production processes
  • virtual engineering for the improvement of industrial performance
  • real time systems
  • modelling and checking for embedded systems
  • logistics and production systems
  • discrete events and hybrid systems
  • cognitive psychology and ergonomics.

IRCCyN is installed, with offices and technical platforms, on several campus of the city of Nantes.
The EWGLA XIX meeting will take place in the main building, hosted by Ecole Centrale de Nantes, with offices for about 160 persons.
The auditorium and two meeting rooms will be dedicated to conference. The main hall at the entrance will be used for the coffee breaks.
The luncheons will take place in the nearby hall K.
